CSAE Conference 2026 – Economic Development in Africa Call for Papers

The CSAE Conference 2026 is now inviting submissions relevant to issues of development economics in Africa.*
The conference will take place from 22-24 March 2026 at St Catherine’s College in Oxford, UK, and will feature a keynote,
panels, and sessions from a range of development economics topics. The CSAE is turning 40 years old in 2026, join us to
celebrate at this year’s event.

We welcome papers from any of the following general themes:
• Agriculture
• Firms
• Fiscal and Monetary Policy
• Health and Education
• Household Economics
• Inequality and Poverty
• Labour
• Macro Productivity
• Natural Resources and the Environment
• Political Economy
• Trade

FUNDING
We have a limited budget to fund African speakers currently living and working in Africa, and travelling from Africa to the Conference. If awarded, funded participants will attend both a pre-conference workshop from 01-05 December 2025, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and the CSAE Conference from 22-24 March 2026 in Oxford, UK. Funding will cover flights, accommodation, catering, and conference registration costs.
